Big Bass 3in1: three small games, one calm afternoon

I'll admit I ignored Big Bass 3in1 at first. The name sounds like a bargain-bin bundle, and I assumed the three modes would be three versions of the same idea. After a weekend with it, I was wrong on that count, and I mean that as a compliment.

The three modes actually differ. One is a timing challenge that rewards a steady thumb, one is a light matching puzzle, and the third is a slower, almost zen mode you can play half-asleep. Each session is short, which is exactly what you want from something you open in a queue.

Controls deserve a specific mention. Everything works one-handed with taps and short swipes, so I played most of it on the train without shifting grip. Nothing lagged on my aging test phone, and load times were quick.

Is it deep? No, and I wouldn't pretend otherwise. After a few days you've seen most of what each mode offers. But as a relaxing filler it earns its spot. If you want something bright, simple, and easy to put down, give it a look.

My tip: start with the slow mode to get a feel for the tap timing, then move to the timing challenge once your hands know the rhythm. It clicks a lot faster that way.
